Shipping / Courier Delivery

We offer nationwide courier delivery within New Zealand.

Delivery Timeframes

  • Deliveries are typically overnight to most major cities.

  • Rural delivery may take an extra 1–2 days.

  • Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details via email.

We recommend choosing a hire date at least 3-4 days before your event to allow for unexpected courier delays.

Courier Dispatch

  • Courier items are sent out 2-3 days before your event.

  • Please ensure someone is available to receive the parcel; Bax to Basics is not liable for parcels that are delayed, misdelivered, or lost by the courier company.

Pick-Up Option (Rolleston)

Pick-up is available locally by arrangement.
You will be sent exact pick-up details once your booking is confirmed.

Pick-up times are:

  • Thursday–Saturday or as arranged

  • Please message us if you need flexibility - we’ll always try to help.

Returns

Return Date

Your return is due the next business day after your event unless otherwise arranged.

How to Return

Choose one of the following:

1. Courier Return

  • Use the prepaid return bag provided.

  • Drop the parcel at your nearest NZ Post counter the next business day.

  • Keep your drop-off receipt for proof of lodgement.

2. In-Person Return (Rolleston)

  • Return the garment in the provided garment bag.

  • Please return on the agreed date and time.

Late Returns

Late returns affect the next customer who has booked the same garment.

  • A fee of $20 per day may apply for late returns.

  • If the item is not returned within 5 days, the full retail value may be charged.

Please communicate with us - we’re understanding, but we must protect upcoming bookings.

Damage, Stains & Cleaning

Professional cleaning is included in your hire fee.

You do not need to wash the dress - we handle that.

However:

  • Minor wear is expected and okay.

  • Significant makeup, fake tan, tears, rips, or damage may incur repair or replacement costs.

  • If a garment is damaged beyond repair or lost, you may be charged up to the full retail value.

Please contact us immediately if something happens - honesty is always appreciated.

Lost or Delayed Parcels

Unfortunately, courier delays are outside our control.

  • If your parcel is delayed or lost, Bax to Basics is not responsible for courier issues.

  • Hire fees remain payable as we have already reserved and prepared your garment for your event.

We will always support you in tracking or resolving courier problems.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made 7+ days before your hire date can receive a refund (minus a small admin fee) or full store credit.

  • Cancellations within 7 days of the hire date are non-refundable.

  • You may transfer your hire to another date or garment if available.
